I did the diagnostics thing (Alarm is the Viper 5900) and it said that the tach signal was too low. Does anyone know where I could grab the tach wire from the interior of the vehicle? Or the exact color under the hood? TIA

You can locate tach for this vehicle at the tach test connector under the hood. It will be near the hood latch. It will look just like all the other previous Honda tach test connectors with a blue wire. It will be under the front upper radiator support next to an existing loom of wires near the hood latch. Its not near the battery, that is indeed for the older body style. The NON hybrids can be located easily at an of the coils, but the coils for the hybrids are tricky to get to and this tach test connector is very convenient.
Shaun, we are the same height, that is neat!

Thank you very much. I will definately check near the hood latch and if anybody else needs I'll have a picture of it either today or tomorrow so just email me if you need it.

I found the test connector and it was located exactly where you described, and I programmed it but for some reason the remote starter still wont crank? I think it does but it only cranks maybe half a second. Then I tried to extend the crank time and still the same problem. I then did the shutdown diagnostics and it said that it was still little or no RPM. The car was already warmed up when I programmed the tach also, if that helps, and the system was programmed for tach sensing not volt, all the proper dip switches are correct... Do all the accessory wires need to be connected in order for the RS to work?

Also, when using the 'pit stop' mode (Pressing remote start on the remote while the car is running) it works fine, so Im going to assume the tach wire I found was correct? I dont know what else it could be

In my experience witht he new HOnda Civic's you have to use voltage sense instead. I've tried using all those tach locations and all of them did not work,

I remember I used to read about volt sensing not being too good for the car. Are there any long term problems which can arise, and if so what are they? Ive NEVER used volt sensing because of that reason. Are there any specific crank times I should set it to?
