We sold our last 6800 out of the display and I can't get the aux input to recognize the signal from a mp3 player, I can not get the head unit to respond the way the manual says it should, ie selecting aux in 1 via the source button. My question is with the mps player connected to aux input does it only have the option once the player recognizes the signal from the mp3 player? I have called pioneer tech support 3 times and no they don't know anything, in fact 1 guy told me it did not have a aux input. Anyhelp or things to try would be great, I have read the owners guide many times with no luck so far.

Thanx

Jeremy

I'm interested in finding out how this worked out for you. I'm having the same issue with my Pioneer 4900. I have the aux input turned on but the MP3 (non IPOD) player in not being recognized. Thanks.

"The DEH-P4900IB is equipped with a rear panel 3.5mm stereo minijack auxiliary input for connecting external components, such as a portable MP3 player, DVD, or VCR. Once AUX 1 is selected as a source."

This is off of Crutchfield's site. I used a mini-jack to mini-jack cable with the MP3 player and selected aux1 as the source and nothing happened. I even choose aux2 to be on the safe side and once again nothing happened. I am a little dissapointed with this. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Customer stopped by, I turned on aux input 1 and it works. cruzan have your tried this in another head unit with aux input, this customer also had a bad cable. You would have to turn it and move the jack around to get it to play the music, they bought a new cable and it plays fine. Just an idea to try.
