I installed an asianwolf 8000rs on my 02 cavalier. I want to run the trunk pin switch wire to the trigger wire of the alarm. Since my door switches are negative polarity, I am using the negative trigger wire. Now in other forums, some say the ORANGE / black is the positive wire and others say the black is the negative wire. Now with that being said, Is it possible to run the ORANGE / black wire to the positive trigger wire of the alarm (since its not being used) so that I dont have to worry about using diodes?

I am sortof lost. I understand that picture. I located the ORANGE / black wire where it runs along the drivers side floor trim panel. What I dont understand is that people say that wire is positive and that the black wire is negative. i also look at the wire diagrams in my Haynes manual. It shows the ORANGE / black wire going to the luggaage compartment lamp, then black going to ground. The ORANGE / black wire also runs to one side of the domelight. Now could I just simply tap into that wire?

I think I understand how it works now. The ORANGE / black wire is 12 volt positive all the time. When the trunk is opened, the ground then completes the circuit. So I would need to splice my - door trigger wire to the black wire that comes off the trunk light, correct? If so, is there anywhere closer to the firewall where I could find that wire, or must I run my wire back to the light?
