I can set high and low pass settings at both my head unit and/or at the amplifier in the trunk. In this situation, is it more preferable to set the high/low pass settings at just the head unit, just the amplifier, or both? Thanks in advance.
Head unit: Kenwood KDC-X890
Amplifiers: Eclipse XA4000, Eclipse DA7232
Speakers: Diamond Audio HEX door, Diamond Audio D9 subwoofer

NICE CHOICE on the amplifiers, first off...
Secondly, I think the crossovers might be a little bit cleaner in the amplifiers. I would personally set them there. Also, being adjusted with potentiometers, they will give you an (effectively) infinite crossover point setting range, where the deck has a digital (by the numbers) crossover seting range, and won't be as flexible.
At the amp will be a set-it-and-forget-it type of affair, and you won't be able to change the settings easily, which I like, some others might like being able to set them from the seating position to suit your tastes at the moment...
This will be a personal choice type of affair.
::::EDIT::::
BTW, did you get my response to your RCA voltage/overpowering question? Here it is, in case you missed it.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Hey thanks for answering my questions all the time haemphyst. I did see your response, and although I didn't follow up, I am very grateful because I learn a lot from your posts.
