You are correct that the door locks can not be controlled with that data module on the 2002 models. But the door locks are simple to get to at the BCM under the dash.
The GMBP is a great piece, I use it anytime I can but the 457G you have will work just fine. There is no need to buy another part, just hook up your connections to the 457 from your system with out door locks. Make sure your ground when running is hooked up, your ignition and your constant hot and ground, these connections can all be made on the bench prior to installing. The only vehicle connection is to the purple OBDII wire. Program the unit as per instructions and you will be good to go.
Thanx twelvevoltz! I appreciate all of your help. See, I'm not really familiar with too many cheap no-name brand alarms. I've never used a DEI bypass before in my life. Now that I think of it, I did program it that way, and it still wouldn't remote start, it would crank over, the starter would kinda grind, and then it would stop cranking.

If you have rewired the bypass as described in these posts and the bypass indicated it programmed properly then your problem is not with the bypass it is with the remote starter itself. If starter engaged but stopped short of starting the truck then I would look into your tachometer programming as being the culprit of your no start condition.
Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.
