I have a 1994 Dakota and am installing a Gentex Auto Dimming mirror out of a 1997 Ford Explorer.  I need some help.  The wiring harness on the mirror  has 5 wires,  the colors are aranged in order of 1-6.  RED / yellow;    GREEN/ yellow;     black;       BLACK/ pink;         WHITE/ purple;      open.      I need to know what this wires are for.  THis mirror was ripped out of a 1997 explorer, wire was cut, so I have no harness end.  The gentex and Moto website are no help.  Somedbody PLEASE help me!!!!

Thanks,

Chad

Ok this is basically what I have found online.  First the two links are for the mirror but for different vehicles.  Use this one to identify what pins are what  http://www.p71interceptor.com/gentexmirror/.  Then use this as a diagram as what to look for http://www.mmsport.s5.com/Compassmirror.html.  Basically the pins "should" be the same but the wire colors may be different.  You will have to tear down the mirror to find the plug on the mirror and take the wiring harness that is going into the mirror and figure out what wires are what from what pin and the diagram from the first link should hopefully supply you with the wiring info you will need.  On the first power up use a really small fuse just in case.  You also might want to look at a chiltons and see if it has the wiring info for the mirror.  Also here are a couple of other links that I found: http://www.audiworld.com/tech/int33.shtml  http://www.mitocorp.com/mirror_installation.htm  Hope this helps.
