how to make switch panel with 12v source

Hey guys. I want to make a Switch Panel in the roof console of my truck. Approx 10 - 12 switches. Controlling various things such as rear door poppers, some air valves, and other low amperage accessories. But im trying to figure out a way to run a single 12V source wire up there, how can I do that?

Check the wiring guide for your vehicle on this website, for a 12V source - will find information on wire color, and location. At that point, its just the task of you running the wire as desired. Note: I suggest you run an in-line fuse in the wire, preferably close to the 12V source wire you use.

If we knew what kind of truck you had it would be MUCH easier to help you.

Sorry. Its a 1999 Chevy Tahoe. I know where I can find a 12V source and all tha t. But I wanted to run lets say 8 gauge wire from the 12v source, up to my roof console, then somehow distrbiute that to the various switches.

I did the same thing in a my 56 chev. Rather than fab a switch panel, I bought a Moroso one. It had all the fuses and such for each ckt. Bassically I ran 00 bat cable from the trunk to a remote disconnect switch , then to the starter solenoid. Off there I ran a 6awg to 100 amp breaker then to a buss bar and then on to the feed lines to my various circuits. [keep in mind the biggest draw is the fuel pump and the lights. really nothing else that draws much current. It works flawlessly. As for hiding things in the roof, run all the wires up the main pillar behind the driver or pass seat, plenty of room.Tire Proz Stillwater Mn
