Hey guys....I wanted to see if anyone has had a similar problem with their Avic 90. My unit has recently stopped "calculating routes" in the system submenu. All gps functions work but that. In the info/ connections menu...the antennea heading says ok. There are no signal stength bars though(the little dash right next to the antennea. All the satellite indicators show orange. I think at least a few have to show yellow for 3d navigation. Is that correct? Also, the other calibration screen which shows left, right speed etc. says "sensor initializing". I am guessing that I need a new antennea but would feel a lot better if some of you guys could concur. Thanks for your help.

Jim

You have a bad antenna. I have seen quite a few that read " Antenna OK" on the connection screen, but the giveaway is the signal strength meter. No signal, no locating.

I read somewhere that if the radio or XM antenna wire is near or crossing the gps antenna wiring it may cancel the signal to your gps. You want to Isolate that gps antenna as much as possible. there is also a magnetic plate that must be place underneath the antenna. The manual also expresse the different angles or line of site the antenna must be to the sky or sattelite. Don't quote me on this, this what get here and there. it may or may not work.
