I hate the location of the rear speakers in my 03 F250 Crew Cab- behind the rear sear in the corner of the cab. I was kicking around the idea of making door pods to bolt onto the front section of the rear door.
Has anyone done this or done something else similar?

Yeah, They are pretty easy. I got 2 6 1/2's in each door + X-overs, I just cut he pocket off and built a couple of pods out of wood and glass, then wraped them in sued. [front and rears] The rears just had the speaks in them. In the front I think there were some clearance issues [been a while] but the rears went real easy...

Did it make a big difference in the sound? I mean, speakers BEHIND the seat aren't going to perform-especially if someone is sitting in the seat.

Yeah they sounded great, but I was pumping a ton of power behind things.. check out www.waldoch.com and go to trucks and look at " the wild thing" There used to be some great photos of it there. Its a giant F350 flammed with 12"airbag lift. Lotsa fiberglass work and such on it..

Thanks Hymer. I checked out the website and there was only 3 or 4 pictures of the "wild thing" truck. None of which were of the pods or anything like that. I wonder if they removed some of the pictures you talked about.
Anyone have some pictures for inspiration?

Trust me, if you can't find inspiration for something there, then you have no imagination. ^-^
