Is it possible to install the eclipse avn 5495 in a 2001 tahoe it has a factory radio now that looks like a double din but someone told me that they were not sure if it would fit.

They tell me it only has a 1.5 din

Tahoe went double din in 2003. It will fit in the cavity in the dash of a 2001 but you will need to make a faceplate out of ABS and cut the top and bottom of the radio bezel out some. We do them all the time, not hard...
