combining 4 stereo channels to 2

This may have been covered already and if so please direct me to the correct post, I have searched to no avail. I have a Sony CDX-F50M receiver that I wish to install in a 1971 IH Scout (has only one speaker mount in dash). I have room for only two speakers (in homemade cabinet in the back) however I wish to enjoy the sound from all four channels. Is there a way to adapt or combine the right front & rear and the left front & rear so that I can use only two speakers? Thanks in advance- talleywhoHi How are you?

No, there is no way to do this.  I actually don't know why you would want to, the same program material in stereo comes through the front and rear head unit outputs.  If you simply want more power, you will need an external stereo amplifier.Support the12volt.com

it's stereo sound. there is only left and right. you're not missing anything as far as sound goes.

Okay, that's right, stereo will be only left and right. There is no sound that might be from the right rear channel that wont be on the right front channel, the front and rear channels are identical. Duh. I guess I've been in a surround world too long with the home theater system and the 5.1 computer system that I forgot the basics of stereo. Thanks guys! -talleywhoHi How are you?
