has anyone installed the new 1701g module into the new tahoe, and if so did you have a problem with the BCM afterwards. we have had a problem with this vehicle only after installing this module for the door locks, and another shop experienced the same thing, so I'm trying to find out if the module is causing problems.

we installed a intelliguard 770 in a 07 tahoe a few months back but we hard wire the locks like it says in directechs, all was working fine but we couldn't unlock the rear hatch with the clifford remote, the customer brought the tahoe back last week because this module is now available (1701g) and it does the locks thru data so it is supposed to work all the points of entry . after we hooked up the module, the rear gate stopped working and would'n open even with the factory switch, then the info center displayed "HOOD OPEN" even when it was closed, then the wipers stopped working and it kept on like that one thing after the other. no test light was used to test wires on the BCM only multimeter (I am not lying) and everything worked fine before this particular module was installed. On thursday we get a call from another shop who just did the same type of vehicle with the same alarm plus a remote start and they said everything worked fine until they wired the locks module(1701g) and after the tahoe didn't start at all. If you or anyone has any info on this please reply asap, we still have to repair this vehicle
By the way we unplugged the module out to see if the first problem (the gate not opening) would stop and it didn't, we put it back in because the customer asked for the remote to lock his doors and after we plug it in all hell started breaking loose.

I would contact DEI ASAP if I was you.  If your a dealer they will help but if your not then they will probably help but will try to end the call as soon as possible.

Sorry I don't have any input on how to fix the problem (except the old "disconnect the car battery for 15 minutes". Best module for doorlocks on these cars is either the Xpress xk01 (flashable module)or the can-sl2 by Fortin

I did this module in my 07 avalanche and have had no issues at all. I soldered the wire to the data wire. I was told to try and get it as far back from the plug as you can. I have had mine done for about a month now. It unlocks everything like it is supposed to. I do not have the lift gate though. I am doing my wifes 07 tahoe this weekend though and I will let you know.

check this out though. I just ordered the same part number and got a different part. They both have the same part number but are different parts. I am going to go over and pick up the same one I used before. So maybe that is the issue here. You guys have the wrong one. I am not sure. The one that I used have to rows of wires. The one I got this morning only has one row of wires with 2 plugs. Not the one I had before.
