I am currently only running one amp, sub and capacitor. i am going to be adding a second sub, amp and cap to my system. now, i have the two rca type cables running from my headunit, to the current amp. if i were to get a remote bass control that plugs into a mini phone jack type plug in that says remote on the main amp, then run another set of rca's from the line outs on the main amp to the secondary one; will that remote bass knob control the other amp as well, or just the one that it's plugged into?

Im running Audiobahn A8000T amps if that helps.

Thanks for the help in advanced guys and gals.

Just the one... You'll need a second remote bass knob.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

That's why I like HU's with a subwoofer level. It'll serve the use that you need, as long as the amps are both coming off of the sub output.

...Oh, and set amp gains with sub-level all the way down. This way you can boost it at low volumes!

ya, my alpine headunit has a bass control on it, but i was just thinking it would be a little cooler/easier to have one remote, instead of fiddling with the headunit. but thanks for the help guys.

So do you mean turn the bass boost on the head unit all the way down, then turn the 18db bass boost on the amp up?

Im new to the whole car audio and install thing, so if anyone could help me with setting up/tuning my amps for the best sound that would be great. im happy with the way it is now, but if i could make it better thats always great.

Thanks again guys and gals

Ideally you don't use any boost when setting gain(s).

I have an Alpine with BBE also. I set my gains (EQ to flat, volume to where i'd never go past, bass boosts off) with the sub level all the way down, this way I can turn it up at low volumes to give it max bass.

Oh, and I think you're better off using the BBE bass boost from the Alpines' sub level rather than your Audiobahn amps' bass boost. Probably better signal quality.
