Just got my first S-10 project, 93 w/188k on it. Runs fine, but only problem is if I drive it for bout an hour, go inside for a bit come back out to start it and it won't start. It cranks and cranks, but no start. 93's don't show to have passlock, so what gives? Any you fellas know where to start?

2.2L?

I sometimes have the same problem with my '95 Cavalier (Same motor, except motor mounts. They changed to diff. 2.2L in '96). It helps to turn the key all the way off before trying again.

I don't know what the prob. is, maybe you should let the fuel pump run for 2 secs. (like it's supposed to, in any FI vehicle) so the injectors can prime...

With my Cavalier, same motor, it still does it every week or so. Mostly when cold. I've done the wires/plugs/air-fuel filter/oxy-sensor/Seafoam (one of the best fuel system cleaners) thing so I don't know...

Check to see if you have spark on all cylinders with a spark tester or a screw driver in the end of the spark plug boot and let it touch ground. It sounds like you have something getting "HotSoaked". It is a condition where an electrical device will become too hot internally and break down after it sits for awhile while it is soaking up heat. I would recommend checking that and if you have no spark then you need to check the ignition module or coil pack depending on which motor you have. It will either be a 2.2l 4 cylinder, 4.3l throttle body injected, or a 4.3l Vortec port type injected. It sounds like an ignition problem to me. Hope this helps out.
