Seems like there's a new kid on the block (seems to be happening a lot lately).  I've checked their site out and looked at the subs they produce and their 5-series S5-10 sub really grabs my interest.

Has anyone dealt with Almani Audio equipment (subs preferrably)?  I would like to know what your experience has been with them, what you think of their performance and are they pretty durable.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!!

Mike

ONTARIO, CALIF. — Almani Audio looking to expand.

Almani Audio is a new mid-fi start-up, which originally began as a house brand for car audio retailer Audio America, here.

Owner Mohammad Radwan says the brand took off and he decided to exit the retail market after 18 years and concentrate on Almani Audio, which now sells at a rate of $5 million annually through about 100 accounts, mainly in Southern California. The brand began to flourish when Radwan offered it to other local stores because of its high margins of 40 percent to 50 percent, he said.

Sourced in Asia, Almani Audio products include DVD and CD players as well as amplifiers and speakers. A DVD player (without screen) sells just below $300 and includes Bluetooth, SD card slot and MP3 and MP4 capability. A similar version with a 7-inch fully motorized screen, TV tuner and 5.1 digital surround has a suggested retail of $750.

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...okay, that tells me that as a company....they seem to be doing pretty good.  Thanks for that tidbit of info.

I really need to know if folks think the subs (5-Series) sound good, how they feel the subs perform...you know, real world feedback.  Pioneer has lost me as a customer for life and I need to find a sub that offers a mix of quality, value, performance and durability.  I've found an S5-10 for about $120 + s&h.

You're not the only one.  I may be jumping out there on blind faith as I once did with Audiobahn long before they blew up.  However, back then I paid $60 for the 12" sub I had that was great considering it was my starter system.  This time around...I'm looking for a little more quality for my money.

I really like how the back of the sub looks for when I'm ready to build a box using some plexi to show it off.

I don't think that'd be a good decision. I mean, there are a lot of companies that make a lot of different things. Doesn't mean i'd choose them, i'd rather go with someone who only does audio. -Unless, of course, they do get a lot of positive feedback. My $0.02

From what i've heard, TC Sounds is pretty easy on the wallet. Supposed to be nice SQ subs, too. http://www.tcsounds.com -have a look-see.
