I have this car in the shop and am adding an Alpine 9885 to the factory amplified system. Can't bypass the amp because the factory Nav feeds into it. Anybody done this yet? Thanks.

I don't know of a way to do it without bypassing the amp.  The amp is located behind the glove box and I don't believe there is anyway of integrating it.

Found out that Metra's digital adapter model TYTO-01 should work. I'll let everybody know how it turns out.

Yeah right, great #%&%$#% adapter. Was told by Metra that everything would work fine except I would lose the voice recognition on the nav. Just a tiny little glitch! Why bother?

Yeah. TINY glitch. I guess Metra doesn't understand the actual purpose of a harness adapter! :)
Honestly, though... that's a really nice stock system, who'd wanna change it out, anyway?
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Ok finally replaced the HU using the Metra TOTY-01. Factory amp fired up nicely but ran into 2 problems. First the reception is crappy, suspect roof mount antenna is amplified but cannot ID the wire to it. Anybody know which wire it is? Second not only does the factory Nav. lose voice acknowledgement, now it doesn't work at all. Metra tech support is clueless on this. Any ideas? This has long since lost any chance of making money.

Just to let other dealers and customers know, Metra lied about this adaptor allowing the factory nav system to still operate. Actually the stock HU initializes the nav and the aftermarket  HU cannot do this. It really ticks me off when tech support tells you something will work when they really have no clue. Idiots!
