I have heard about something that you need to be careful of with "Autolamps".  What are they? and what do I need to concern myself with when installing a RS?

Thanks

Ok so I only have positive parking light out put so i use a relay to change to negative for the grn/wht or grn/red, then use a relay to break the continuity of the blk/yel wire at the light switch so that it is isolated? and use 2 diodes.  i am just making sure, that sounds simple enough.

This is for my brother, so I am not sure what Autolamps are: are they on all '00 Grand Caravans or just some, and how will I know.  Is it something like the GM feature where you never have to turn on your lights because you have daytime running lights and then when it gets dark they just turn on automatically, or is completely different?  how will I know if it has Autolamp is really all I need to know.

Thanks a lot Jeff

Ok I maybe should start a new thread but this is very minor stuff here:   This install is for my brother, but he told me to charge him what ever anyone else would charge because he is not going to worry about a few bucks.  so I am curious what you guys would charge to install just an RS in a '00 Grand Caravan.  I told him would put the starter in for $155 (it is a Directstart CS423 I got from a firend in the business for about $55.  He also hooked me up with a bunch of relays pretty cheap).  So then I told him could do an anti-grind relay for $10, the doorlocks for $15 and the parkinglights for $10.   That is 5 relays, 2 resistors, 2 diodes, 5 wire harnesses, and a partridge in a pear tree for $35, and that just seems way too cheap.  What would everyone else charge for this vehicle.   I was thinking that $10 per relay and an extra 10 for the resistors and diodes sounds reasonable, whcih would just be $60 instead of $35.  I am just curious in case i end up doing a few more of these for a few other friends, I will want to charge what its worth.

My shop charges:

199 basic remote start---parking lights are always included.

25  door locks---maybe extra if running wires into the doors is needed

30? anti-grind relay---not too sure of the price; we don't do many

Almost no shop charges separately for diodes and/or resistors; they're dirt cheap.  My shop doesn't charge separately for relays, although many do.  If you're doing side jobs, just pull a bunch of relays out of cars at the junkyard.
