hey i am just about to start to build a box for my subs( 12'' p2). and i was wondering waht frequency should i tune the box to, the specs for the subs say like 39hz, but i was wondering if i should go lower or higher for the box. also i was wondering something else, it says the recommended port length for the volume i have in order to get 39hz or so is like 10''. so i was wondering if i split that into 2 ports both at 5'' long will that still give me the same tuning frequency of 39hz or so, or will that alter the frequency?

Tune it to the recommended specs given by the Rockford Fosgate. The information they have given you has already taken into account for the Qs and whatnot to give powerful street bass, which is about 39Hz anyways.

As for the ports, yes changing them to two 5" ports will dramatically change the way your subs will hit and in this case, that can lose as much as 6db from its power peak. If you wish to make it two ports, it would be best to post in the Car Audio section of the forum and as someone to run the calculations for two ports for the sub. (I'm not at home so I cannot do it for you. Sorry dear)

I hope this answers all your questions for now. If you have more please do not hesitate to ask.
