viper 791 needed key wont start.

Before you do that with a dmm you ground the black lead and tap the green wire(heavy guage) with the red  lead.  Turn the key to crank.  If it shows 12v then the switch is fine.  The yellow wire is your starter wire, its cut in half for the cut off. The key side goes to the green heavy gauge wire and starter side goes to the purple wire. Reconnecting them back together should fix it. If it doesnt then go to the fuse box and check if the starter fuse is blown.

So, I thought I checked all the fuses but did not look at this one because I figured it wouldnt work with the remote start if the ignition #2 fuse under the hood was blown.

Sure enough, 20A fuse was popped.  Any ideas what would cause that to happen?
