Here is what happend to me. I went ot NYC for vacation and bought a clifford 50.5 for my brother. On reaching back home i discovered that my suit case was broken into and the ararm unit and the remote was missing. I have only the siren ,all wires and the SST antenna.
Saturday i bought a viper 5900 for my brother which i discovered uses the same antenna as the clifford. Now i have a 791xv in my van.
Now i believe that the SST technology is in the antenna and the remote. Can i swap out my 791 antenna with the SST and buy me a SST remote. So i can have the 791 with SST range or is there more to it than that?   Have any one ever done this?

Are you sure about this. I don't want to go damaging my 791. Have you ever tried this?

That seems iffy to me to tell you the truth... i swapped out a 791xv for a 5900 and in order to do so i needed the brain, the antenna, and the remote.

i didnt switch modules and it worked. thats all i could tell you. youre on your own after that. just get one 5900 off ebay and resell the 791 back on ebay to make back some money then.

Yeah, the wiring is exactly the same from the 791xv to the 5900 SST all u need to change is the remote, the antenna, and the brain. Everything plugs right in.
