Hi,
I am trying to find out what I'm getting into installing a remote starter in an '06 Pontiac GTO. I have found conflicting informationso far. Wiremagic says it has a Transponder system and Directed says it has a single wire VATS system that can be bypassed with a resistor. Audiovox doesn't say anything. Bypasskit and Fortin don't list anything for a bypass kit either. Has anybody seen one of these cars firsthand or done a R/S on one that can shed some light here?
Thanks
Jon

you can see what THIS guy did, seems very elaborate, but not much info otherwise to suggest a different way of doing things:

we've done one gto, and its the only one in town with a remote start.  it was 2 years ago, but if i recall, that 1608 document is wrong.  it may work for the grand prix gto, but not the straight gto.  We got it to work by following what that other guy on here did, the one that took the key apart.  Could not bypass it any other way.
