First off, this is in a boat, I didn't see a dedicated forum for boats, and we are using car audio components, so hopefully I'm not breaking any rules. Here is the equipment we are running:

Alpine CDA-9885 CD Receiver w/ 4 volt pre-outs

2 Rockford Fosgate T1500-1bd Mono Block Amps(Running at 2 ohms each, approx. 1100 watts RMS each)

4 Rockford Fosgate T600-4 4 Channel Amps(2 Running at 4 ohms bridged, AND 2 Running at 4 ohms stereo, approx. 600 watts RMS each)

2 Kicker L7 12" Subs, in sealed boxes

2 Pairs Diamond Audio D661 6.5" Component systems in towers

4 pairs Diamond Audio D661i 6.5" Coaxial 2-way speakers in boat

Our customer can only get a 140 amp alternator to fit his boat(to the best of our current knowledge, but we are trying to figure out a way to get up to the 220-250 amp range). Instead of running a traditional second battery, we will be adding 2 Kinetik Audio HC1400 Power Cells, which are rated at 1500 Amps each, using Rockford Fosgate 1/0 Gauge wire all throughout the boat, and also adding a Rockford Fosgate RFC10HB 10 Farad Digital Hybrid Cap. That being said, here are my questions/concerns:

1) If he can in fact only get a 140 amp alternator, is this system going to work without becoming a monkey on our backs we have to deal with every weekend?

2) Is using 2 of the HC1400 Cells enough? Or do we need to upgrade to bigger and/or more cells?

3) Is using the Rockford 10 farad hybrid cap going to do anything at all used in conjunction with the Kinetik cells?

Any input, answers, reassurance or confirmation of my insanity is welcome.

Thanks

. See if domininc iraggi can custom build an alterantor for ya. I would shoot high maybe a 280 to 300 amp, that is a crap load of amps. The reason is in most boat systmes I have done they are usually pushing the volume at 65 to 80% when cruising it.  I would consider using the 2400's from kinetic also, I mean your talking 4600 watts RMS.
