...AND he was given a ticket on Highway 46, just about the same place as was Andretti, (?) and by the same cop... This after he had flown back FROM Indy, and wanted to get home to watch it again!
GREAT story, Bob! lamborghini murcielago fuse block - Page 2 -- posted image.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Yeah I didn't expect much from the new Lambos, I'm still a diablo man myself. Have you guys ever driven the countach? I love the looks and styling, but whats up with the clutch??? Reminds me of old for trucks when I drive that thing.
Anyways, have you guys heard of the Alpine diablo that got wrapped around a telephone pole by like the head of CC's roadshop? Alpine ships in the diablo for a car show and stores it with a store here in southern ca. They take off the shifter so no one wouldn't drive it. Later, a big wig from CC climbs in with some vice-grips and goes for a spin and introduces fine italian engineering to good old american telephone pole.

Boy that's like playing telephone. The original story was it was the Alpine Countach ( I don't believe they ever had a Diablo) and two installers put a battery in it because it didn't have one ( it did have a shifter though). The problem was it was a gray market import and had never been registered. Cops saw it fly by and pulled it over. Both installers were looking for work the next day.
There is no such thing as free installation!

Is that how it went? I honestly barely remember any of that story so I'm sure your version must be more accurate. But I do remember a person from corporate being involved. Because I was in the middle of the discussion when I was helping them set up the booth at Hot Import Nights a few years back.
