Model: Tacoma Access Cab

Year: 2005

My Viper 791xv system has been working perfectly up until now. It responds to unlock/lock but it doesn't register on the remote and it just beeps with the little did not receive a signal icon flashing on the remote.

I've tried taking the battery out of the remote and putting it back in several times.

My guess would be either the battery is not providing enough power to the remote (a lot of rechargeables do not work in remotes) or the antenna is not fully plugged in or damaged somehow.

I checked the connection to the antenna mounted just below the rear view mirror and their is no problem with this connection.. Where would this connection generally lead to on the other end?

I do remember running the truck battery pretty low one night while using my stereo, could this be the problem?

No that shouldn't really have an affect I was referring to the battery in the remote itself and, to answer your other question the other end of the antenna runs directly to the alarm brain itself.

Is there a way to reset the whole system?

No, there's not really a reset procedure other than disconnecting it for a little bit then reconnecting it I don't think.

Who installed the unit for you?,Does the unit try to start,turn over, or nothing and just the 3 beeps from the keyfob. What kind of bypass was used?(did you have to donate a key for the bypass?)

You dont want to "reset" the unit, because it will also reset the programming as well. After you get more detail to your post we can help you a lil bit better.

Guess this wasn't as complicated as I thought it would be. I took apart the remote and found that the positive battery connectors solder joint was loose. Resoldering it made it nice and stiff again. While putting it back together another connector fell away from the board. Resoldered this connector , put it all back together and everything is working again!.

Yes im a cheap mustard and won't buy a new remote :)
