First of all...please forgive my ignorance.  I've been reading through lots of posts trying to find an answer to my question without success.  I would like to know what kind of relay to use to complete a simple circuit.  I'll try to explain...I would like to power the relay with a 12volt switched power and ground....when the 12v is applied to the relay, I would like two terminals without any voltage to them to complete a circuit.  Hope I'm describing this well enough to get an answer.  Thanks in advance!

Easy one. Right application. Where is the circuit?

using a SPST or SPDT relay:

pin 85 goes to your output of the 12 volt switch

pin 86 goes to ground

pin 30 goes to one side of your circuit

pin 87 goes to the other side of your circuit.

when 12 volts is triggered from your switch, it will close contacts 30 and 87, thus completing your circuit.
