I recently installed a DEH-P7800MP Pioneer CD Player into my '03 Civic and all worked fine. While putting everything back, I pulled a bit too hard on the cd connector and put the panel that cd player is on back in, without knowing that I pulled out the constant 12v wire out of the cd connector. When I tried to turn on the cd player, nothing would turn on. I fixed the wiring and the blown fuse under the hood and it didn't help. I then directly ran a 12v switched and a ground to the cd player with the main connector out, and nothing worked again. All other wires were good, so they couldn't touch that constant 12v. It probably shorted to the chassis ground or maybe a couple connected RCA cables? What can I do to further examine the problem?

Test for power at the constant and accessory wires.

I made direct connections. I'm not using any other wires.

Maybe you screwed the connector and you have to change it or fix it better that it makes contact and the fuse of the stereo is good?

You might have blown the deck itself.  Get it checked out by an authorized service center.

Would they charge me anything just to check? I still have it on warranty, but I need to send it across the border for that. That would be my last option.
