to push 4 10" L7s.

My L has a 130 amp stock alternator.  Will 2 yellow tops be sufficient?  The truck is only driven once a week.  I doubt I'll have play more than one complete song at full volume.  I'll be doing short bursts if anything.  Considering all the money spent, I'd like to compete in SQ or SPL, whichever the shop deems more appropriate considering my system.  If I need it, I'll buy, but, of course, if I can spare the expense, that'd be great.

Thanks.

I wouldnt waste the cash on YellowTops, especially if it wont get driven everyday...
buy Stingers if you really want a show battery, or buy from the company that actually makes the Stinger batteries if you want to save some cash on the EXACT same products...Hawker Odyssey builds batteries for Stinger, with a really low ESR, and I would say that for the money, you wont beat the Hawkers...

you must have plenty of power for sq or spl. low power will make your music sound distorted. 2 yellow tops are fine, but you need a 200amp altanator. go to a local starter alt shop they can build one cheaper and better than high dollar "name" brand chrome jobs. I had a 200 amp alt built and installed for only 200.00 thats cheap. it works great.

a good alternator is a must...before you think of any of these other things, make sure you have a solid alternator...
drop dominick iraggi of irragi alternators a line at dominick@tds.net and let him know what youve got...he should be able to hook you up...he is one of the best HO alternator guys in this industry...and his prices are reasonable too...
I would stay away from alot of local shops, because personally I havent ever had a good experience with them...the claims they make on their alternators dont always stand up to the test...and I have heard so many alternators that have induced so much noise into a system that wasnt previously there...
just IMO...
