Hi All,

I have a 2003 Dodge Stratus and I can not start it with my key, howerver it will start with my remote start. When I put my key in the ignition it doesn't do anything. When I turn the key to start I get nothng, no noise, and nothing lights up on the dash. Agian, erveything works when I use that remote start. I've checked all the fuses, all good.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

you remote starter may have a starter kill try pushing the unlock before starting with key. what kind of starter is it?

after you put the key in the key cylinder and turn to run position and press the braike, does your car shut off?

I don't know if it's necessarily the starter kill b/c the ignition should still come on with a starter kill (unless the starer kill is also and ignition kill) [usually the relay cuts the starter wire in two and connects the circuit after alarm has been disarmed]

Was it working fine and now, all of sudden you're having this problem?  I have a feeling the ignition harness plug has been disconnected or is loose from the actual key cylinder.  I did this once in a Jeep Cherokee install -- the remote starter was working beautifully, but then I go to start with the key and NOTHING .. i realized the plug that connects the ignition harness to the key cylinder hadn't clicked in all the way and had fell out.

The search function is your friend.

Check your fuses under the hood, I bet there's one blown up under there.

I've seen this happen on a dodge dakotas as well, the plug was still techinically plugged in but once it was pushed together, all was good again. If this turns out to be your problem, cable tie it together.
