I have a 2005 Nissan Altima 3.5SE which comes standard with the midline stereo system; I know the VSS wire is the pink or black wire in the stereo harness, but can anyone tell me where to tap the reverse wire??? I am going to be installing a Pioneer AVIC-80DVD sometime this week and this info. would be very handy to have.
Thanks

We did one last week and found no info on it anywhere.  We wound up going to the bulb.   And the VSS wire is the Pink wire in the radio harness.

That is what we had to do. they spent way too much time trying to find it in the front of the vehicle when it takes about 3 or 4 minuites to get it to the back of the car. I am sure someone here has done one and can help you with it. well not sure but hopefully.

Just wondering, before I look at the reverse light on the car, is it grounded to the chassis through the casing the actual bulb goes into, or is there a separate positive and negative wire??? I guess what I am really trying to get at is, am I supposed to go to the positive wire of the reverse light for the Avic reverse wire connection???
EDIT: For anyone who is wondering where the reverse wire is, I found out through another source that it's the GREEN / WHITE wire in the driver side kick panel, on the harness that goes to the rear of the car.

The reverse wire is GREEN / WHITE located driver kick panel, harness to rear...it is alot easier to get the signal from the back of the car though

Yeah, I found that out already a couple of days ago, that's why I have the "EDIT" in my previous post.
But thanks anyway.
