does any one know for sure the newest indash that will still recognize an older AVIC80 DVD navigation from Pioneer?  I have a avhp6500dvd with an avic80dvd in my wife's Tahoe and the 6500 is showing signs of future failure.  The nav is fine and I would just like to upgrade the head.  Single din(flip out) is preferred but If I have to use a Double Din i will make the appropriate accomodations for it.  Thanks

PS  I was looking at the 5900

The AVIC-80DVD should work with the AVH-P5900DVD, but you will have to buy the upgrade CNDV-70MTP discs. Those discs have a software upgrade to make the AVIC-80DVD compatible with the particular head unit you have in mind.

Check this website out: www.avic411.com, and go to the forums area. Ask some questions there too, the people there are more informed than I am because this is a forum specifically for Pioneer AVIC units.
