Do you have amps hooked up to your speakers or are they hooked up to the stereo directly? On what kind of car?

You need to first turn the CAPS LOCK off on your keyboard.  Then take a foot of 18 guage wire strip both ends, ground one end to wherever you grounded your radio. With your car running, engine noise a blaring, touch the other end of the wire to the shiny silver or gold part of your RCA cable that goes to your amp. This will make a Pop noise then the engine noise will go away. If this works let us know and we can let you know how to fix it.

Either patch cord will work, left or right. It will not go bang, it will just make a slight pop.  After it makes the pop, if you remove it the noise will come back. We are just doing this to make sure this is the problem.  The shield of your patch cord is the outer shiny part that you can see when the cable is connected to the radio. If this works, you have a problem with your radio. A temporary fix for this would be to solder the wire to the patch cord.

You might want to check the location of your RCA and power wire. If they are too close to eachother that could also cause noise. Or it could possibly be a bad ground.
