Alright, time to ask a question to the experts. My buddy has a 93 Lexus SC400 with Nakamichi. Recently the amplifier took a crap on him, and it's $800 to get a new one. The speakers in the rear were replaced. Now I know that some factory amplified systems run at 2 ohms, and nearly all aftermarket speakers run at 4 ohms. Now my questions is, is Nakamichi 2 or 4 ohms? Would it do any damage to hook up a regular 4 channel to the speakers, if it is even possible without upgrading the head unit itself.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I recently replaced the failed rear speakers on my '93 SC400 that has the Nakamichi system. The speakers were 4 ohm, 20W/40W per the stamp on the back of the speakers. Obviously nothing special.
