Everyone's gunna have something different to say .. i've only installed compustar 2wss units and ultrastart 1270tl's lately .. i like both (obviously the 2wss for 2 way paging r/s-alarm .. ) The CS is a solid unit, i'm not a super big fan of the programming of the 2-way remote, but once it's programmed, it works well, some antennas can be finicky, but the CS has plenty of decent features (all of the necessary standard features) and is pretty reliable.  Range has been great for my installs of the CS.

Well this depends, are you refering to the old 2WSSR released around five years ago, or are you talking about the new PRO 2WSSR released this year?

The new PRO 2WSSR features a finer tunned Spread Spectrum technology than the previous. It has a 1mile range like its previous model but is also more relaible when it comes to your autostart/alarm needs. I deal with compustar all day and have had tremendous results as far as the units reliability!

You can visit the the compustar website and find out more about the product here: http://www.compustar.com/main.htm

Forgot to mention. CompuStar was the first company that used the Spread Spectrum technology in remote starters! SS technology (FREQUENCY HOPPING) was first thought of by Nikola Tessla and later used for military communications.
