2, dual 2 ohm subs and zx1000.1?

the amp is stable at 2ohms so you'd want the subs at 2ohms for best results. you can do this in one of two ways: you can either wire both coils of each sub in parrallel (pos to pos, neg to neg) and then both subs in series (neg of one sub to pos of the other and then remaining pos and neg to the amp). this will convert each sub to one ohm and then combining them both in series will increase it back to two.

the other way is to do the inverse: wire the coils of each sub in series and then both subs in parrallel. This will convert each sub to 4 ohms and then combining them both in parallel will knock it back to 2 ohms. this way will probably be the easiest to do.

the part about each coil being wired to an amp is true too: if you had a need for such an application, you can actually run one amp on each coil of the sub. it's a little different when you set the gains in this situation than normally as you want both coils to move at the same time (so both amps have to have the same output). this is likely not the setup for your situation, i'd assume. I've used this design once... never had a need to do it again unless in competition.
