Heyo. got a little problem I gotta ask :)
I got two JL W6V2 with a JL 1000/1 in a sealed box
It seems if I listen to anything really bassy (rap mostly) and I turn it to about 20+ volume or just turn the bass controls up my 1 subs makes a popping noise. Only the one though, that I have noticed.
I've googled and searched and read a few things. But lots of mixed answers.
Am I overpowering the subs?
Do I need to just tweak my amp? (settings wise)
Having volume at like 20 or so is loud enough for me, its almost ear bleeding loud but some songs that hit hard it makes the noise and scares the doodie out of me. And I'm scared if I drive around with a passenger they might just turn it up a little to loud one day and bam.. bye bye subs :(

MANY things could be wrong/happening...
Box too big
Box leaks air
Amp mis-adjusted
Overpowering
bass knob cranked
Yes, only one does it, but that doesn't mean that one or more of those things above can be causing it...
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

thxs bro. I am going to adjust my amp this weekend once I buy or borrow a volt meter. I think the gain and other settings are messed up because I bought this amp from ebay and the guy was using it for 3 JL W6v2. and the boost was at like +10 and other crazy settings.
JL site has a few examples about setting up amps for certain things. I might just copy one of those and tweak it to my own preference.
