I have a 2003 Saturn Ion Type 3 Sedan with the 2.2L motor... I am hoping someone know where to find an alternator for it that outputs more than 150 amps (190 would be ideal though)...

PLEASE! I have been looking for days now and I am starting to cry. T-T

Help a girl out?

Thank you SO much

Sure thing, Keiika... If these guys can't do it correctly, I'm thinking nobody can. It'll be about 650, but done VERY right. Call 563-323-3337 and ask for Phillip. This should be what you can expect.
Another viable option, and quite a bit less expensive. (Mine was 350 from them...) Keep in mind though, and I have learned this "the hard way", you WILL get what you pay for in an HO Alternator. I didn't find an exact option in their catalog, (for the '03 Ion) but here's the phone number - 800-607-0016
Not saying that all of the Alterstart items are bad, (and mine WASN'T for as long as it lasted) just saying that the first option presented might be worth the extra bennies... finding an alternator -- posted image.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Did you find a solution at either of those places, Keiika?

I'd steer away from alterstart. I personally had all kinds of problems with my alternator from them and with the service when I tried to get them to fix their mess.

Yea HO alts are tricky beasties.  I've never found one worth money.  Always have like 10v output at idle and crap like that.

I'd stick with haemph's orginal recommendation.  Spend *alot* of money on the alt otherwise you might as well save your money completely.
