viper 5900 tach/voltage wires?

I'm installing a Viper 5900, and I don't want to use the tach wire for the autostart, I read in the manual you can set it up to sense voltage "high/low" but it dosen't really go into how to do it...

So how do I go about doing this? Does the tach wire need to be hooked up to something different?

First and Foremost

Tach is the safest way and the way recommended by ALL installers. (most likely voltsense is going to fail you in the future) Anyways, opinions aside Depending on where you live (hopefully the temperature doesnt vary alot), and what car (you didnt state make/model/year of car) you might be able to get away with voltsense (aka tachless) (Does not require you to hook up tach wire, cut and tape up this wire) Read the install manual (pg 42), it tells you how to change settings. Read through it throughly so you understand what it is. Start by going into programming mode Change Option 3-2 Engine checking TACH to Engine checking VOLTAGE then read page 49 **** <-- dont forget to read this page!!! Then if you need to increase crank time, Change Option 3-5 Crank time: Use the Search button if you are still confused.Note: You Always Dont Get What You Pay For.
