A friend of mine wants to add more channels to a remote start/keyless entry that I installed in his Dodge truck. It's an Omega unit. I've seen the DEI 450R channel expander. I'm not real sure how they work though. Will this work with the Omega unit or does it have to be a DEI unit? If anybody knows where I can download the manual for this unit or can explain how it's wired and how it works, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

It will work with any keyless entry system or alarm. It work (and changes channels) by using pulses; ie. unlock, lock, third channel. It simply takes a single pulse\validity channel and converts it into six channels with seven different output options per channel. Those options are: pulse\validity, latch reset with ignition, standard latch, 30 seconds timed, 60 seconds timed, 90 seconds timed, and "off". You can do stuff like remote start, windows up\down, open\close your sunroof, turn your stereo system on\off, pop the trunk, open your door, turn on your seat heaters, turn on\off neon lights. The options are practically endless. If your looking to buy one I have a new one I will sell. I never ended up using it for an alarm I installed and it's just collecting dust. I paid $50 for it but I'll sell it for $40. I'm not real sure what they cost at a shop. Email me if your interested at GMC4x4Guy@aol.com

Omega does make an auxiliary receiver that will work with Omega, audiovox, or dei products. It has four negative output channels that can be configured for a timed pulse (.5-30 seconds), latching, or as long as you hold the transmitter button. It's pretty small and will clip on to most Omega systems. We sell it through our website for $24.95 plus shipping (brand new). I hope this helps.

GMC4x4Guy,
