I have a q 45 2002 with the smart key i just installed remote starter and I have a small problem that bugs me.
If I start the car with my remote when I get to the car I cant put in my smart key and turn it to ignition to drive, I ether have to push the brakes to turn off the car and turn it on again or I can put in that metal key thatís inside the smart key then the key turns to ignition and I donít have to turn the car of.
The remote is by audiovox asp 997.
does any one else has the same problem with their remote starter with smart key, did the installer screw-up or is this the only way?
Ill appreciate any feedback thanks

I've done a few of those cars, and I ran into the same thing, and never found a way around it.
If the metal key inside the smart key will turn........then you can pretty much use any kind of key you have around.
You might just want to find an old car key that's about the right length, even from another kind of car, and leave that on your keyring.

Sadly for you, the CAN-SL2 bypass will actually resolve this issue for the newer infiniti's with the intellikey/smartkey, but it won't for your model (I just looked it up).

I believe it's working the way it should, i agree it's annoying.
