Hey all, Can anyone help me please??? I bought a ford escoet RS turbo a couple of weeks ago and its got a clifford concept 650 alarm system on it, Its aslo got a turbo timer on the system. The other day i removed the stereo to pick up a live feed and then replaced the same stereo ito the car. When i tried to start the car it would not turn the starter over, I can Unlock and Lock the car i can turn on the ignition but it wont start, you can hear the fuel pump prime aswell. I didnt disterb any wiring apart from tapping into the possitive feed to the stereo. Is this likely to be the alarm/immobiliser? If so what do i do, ive been told by GAP security that its going to cost £150 as it needs a service! Thats a lot of money for me at the mo so any help would be very appreciated

Thanks

Andy

Sounds like you some how triggerd the alarms starter kill. If all the Ing come on but no cranck i would check starter kill relay. it may be possable that the relay was wired to that power or ground of the radio and has now been dirupted. first thing locate the starter kill relay. Next bypass this relay by reconecting the to ends of the starter wire. At this point the car should start unless there is some other problem.

I would start by making sure this wire has no interuption in it.
Starter
This is what directechs lists as a starter wire on a UK escort from 89 to 98. If it has been cut at all, splice it back together. Oh yeah.....cool car....would like to get my hands on one.
