I recently installed a Viper 5900 alarm/r.s. in my 2000 Impala.  The problem I have; when I was programming the remote, I accidently(I don't know how) programmed the transmitter to arm only.  I have know idea how I did this, but now I can't re-program it so I can arm and disarm the alarm.  Pushing the unlock/disarm button does nothing, it doesn't even show it communicating.  I messed up, but I accidents happen.  I just wish this wasn't one of them.

Any help is appreciated, I just hope I don't have to buy another remote.

Even with the system armed? I armed the alarm without knowing that I couldn't disarm it. I unplugged everything last night, thinking that maybe it will reset it self(?).

I got it back to normal........I managed to disarm it using the valet switch, after about 45 minutes.  I was programming the remote to make sure the trunk release worked.  Its just peace of mind to me, I know its pre-programmed but I just wanted to be positive.

Thanks for the replies.
