Hi,
I recently purchased a 92 Integra with an alarm that was probably installed back in 92. The car won't start and I'm wondering if it is because of the alarm's kill switch. I'm not an expert at this at all, so that's kind of a shot in the dark. The led on the remote still lights up when the button is pushed, so I'm assuming the battery is good but the alarm does nothing when the button is pushed. It doesn't go off when the doors are opened either.
I'd like to know how to uninstall the alarm, if possible. Is it as easy/simple as unplugging the brain?
Also, when I connect the battery, the tail lights come on, as if the brake pedal was being pushed. What would be the best way to find out why?
Here are some pics of the alarm and remote:

Any help is greatly appreciated...I'm trying to get this car to run so I can have a car to drive to work and not leave my stranded at home! 92 acura integra with alpine alarm - Last Post -- posted image.

unplug the brain. follow each individual wire to where its connected to your car. carefully cut and tape all the areas where a connection took place.

Do the power wires first. constant, 12v switched and ground. Then light flash.

Thanks for the reply!
The table you included...is that a color code for the wires coming off of the alarm?
Also, the power wires you're talking about...are they labeled?

It dons'nt mean that your alarm is no good.  Did you check your starter.  Try to jump start it with 12v from the battery.  Might have an anwser there.  If it starts (starter good) go under the dash take out the three philips screws that holds the dash piece under the steering wheel and look for a harness coming from the key barell (black-white) it should go trough a relay (kill switch) if installed.  Cut relay off and put back together the two Black-white ends back together.  Car should start..

Take your time, a solution is just around the corner :-)

Sweet! Thank you Eric-tech!
How can I get the alarm to work with the remote again? Right now it doesn't respond to the remote.
Also, is this alarm worth keeping or should I get a new alarm installed?

Does anyone have any ideas on how to find out why the brake lights are staying on?
At first, I thought maybe I left the lights on but that wasn't the case.
I'm having to disconnect the battery so the brake lights won't drain it.
In case I didn't explain this in my previous posts, I'm trying to get the car to run after it had been parked for 3+ yrs. At first, the car was completely dead. Last night I finally got the car to have power. The engine would crank when I turned the key but wouldn't start. It may be because the gas in the car is 3 yrs old. I'm sure that is part of the problem, however, I wanted to also eliminate any possibility of this alarm causing any issues as well.
Thanks in advance for everyone's help. 92 acura integra with alpine alarm - Last Post -- posted image.

Figured out why the brake lights were staying on. The button that typically gets pressed when the brake pedal is released was not getting pressed. I guess there should be a rubber grommet or something in the brake pedal to press the button. It was missing.
