i bought a viper alarm sysytem model 5001 pager. it does not come with  remote start. what do i need to make my car start? do i just buy a remote start bypass module? will that do the job or do i need something else? i have a 97 ford expedition with pat keys. some one please help!!!!! thanx

Please have one single thread for your topic/problem.
And as for forum courtesy, caps indicates you are yelling.
Anyways, since the 5001 is just a 2-way pager, you need to buy a remote start add-on unit.
(if you still can, return it and buy a 791 or 5900)
If not, for your remote start add-on, i would either pick valet add-on. (any brand should be fine, im just familiar with DEI)
For your bypass, i would use a 555f. Downside is, during the winter when it is extremely cold the the pellet fails on you. (not sure if its this cold in Arizona, but thats something to consider)
from your other thread about the universal bypass, in all temp a 555U and key always work (unless the installer did a bad job of placing the ring)
Are you planning to install this yourself? Have any experience?
Save you some headache and time if you had a single unit with remote start and alarm.
Note: You Always Dont Get What You Pay For.
