Odd. I figure the added airflow will keep the VC cooler.

It's surprising that I haven't seen installs where there are fans connected to speakers!

The only air that really ventilates the voice coil is provided whent he woofer is moving, and the pumping action is minuscule. The real heat transfer is radiation to the pole piece and magnet assembly, and then to the basket and out to the world.

As for air pumps, they are used, but only in esoteric applications. Community Loudspeakers had some in the 80s with forced air cooling to the high frequency compression drivers. Sound Physics Labs used it to cool the motors on the Basstek-7 as well.
