just did an alarm in an equinox and now the door locks don't work and the rap system will not shut down.

Everything worked fine until I added a relay to the door pin wires to keep the alarm from falsing everytime that diagnostic pulse goes around.  The 12v signal from the open relay went up the wire to the door pin wires and i'm pretty sure toasted the bcm.

In case any of you do an alarm in one of these, do not tap into the door pin wires, use an xk01 module to get your doorpins..  I'm pretty positive the bcm is toast and we will have to purchase a new one.. I'll find out more info on Monday and keep you all posted.

sorry to hear,
this is the reason why DEI took the relay trick off their tech tips (only works with ford)
"Using the relay trick does work and WAS on the 1076 before but was removed because the problem with it is it creates a positive rest state on the door triggers with the doors closed that causes issues on many chryslers. Don't recall anything with fords but if it doesn't cause problems on older ones it still might on newer ones. If you install a diode to block the positive rest state from going back into the door triggers then you block the ability for negative to reach the relay"
(not my quote)
hopefully bcm is still fine.

well.. i got a new bcm in my hand for it.  had my bro who is a gm master tech come over here and diag the car.. bcm was toast.  good thing he owns his own tech2 scanner and can flash the new bcm for free.

so.. new equinox's.. don't tap into the factory doorpin wires for alarms. use the doorlock data module, lesson learned.
