I am looking to purchase a sub in the next 2 weeks and the main thing is that it has to have a mounting depth of 6 inches or less.

i will be putting it in a truck, underneith the back seats which is why i have a limitation.  i would prefer 1, 12in sub because i already have a 1 channel amp that i would like to use.  if i have to go down to a 10in sub then i have no problem with that either.

i dont think i'll be able to get what i want out of my system since i have the mounting depth but we'll see.

What kind of vehicle do you have and what amp are you using?

Kicker, Pioneer, Blaupunkt all make "flat" subs. I am sure there are others too, but I don't get out much anymore.

my vehicle is a nissan titan.

if i go with the one sub setup i'll be using a kicker zx1500.1 which means i'll be wasting a lot of power because no sub that ive seen so far with a shallow mounting depth that i need can come close to that.

my other option is to sell that one and pick up a 2 channel amp and split it up to 2 12s or 2 10s.

i was looking at the FI SSD10, getting two of those and getting a new amp but a friend told me those werent any good.  he mentioned looking at audiobahn but im not so sure about those.  so i come here looking for some help.

i have seen the "flat subs" that you're talking about but i wouldnt think those would be as good as a "normal" sub.

I nearly choked there! The only thing Audiobahn has over Fi (if it counts to you, not me) is the flashyness factor.
