Recently purchased an Executive 3000 keyless entry system and am going to try to put it on my wife's 85 Bonneville

For the constant 12 volts-I need to hook it to the Large red wire at the ignition harness, right? This car has 2 of the on this harness, which one do I use?

The system has two wires for the dome light, one with a fuse and one without,I dont understand hoe to hook these up either

Any info would be greatly appreciated

     Thanks,Allen

Yes,but do I need to hook it to BOTH red wires for the constant 12 volts?

also

Why would the Executive 3000 Keyless entry system have 2 wires to hook to the dome light? One wire has a fuse and one is a straight wire, how would these be hooked up?

 Thanks for the help

If the unit has 2 12 volt input wires like most systems do, then you will need to use both. If it only has 1 12 volt input wire, then use only one of the red wires. Are you sure the one with the fuse isn't for the PARKING LIGHTS ?

The park light wire has a 10 amp fuse also

I am looking at it now.There are 2 wires for the dome light;

one with a fuse and one straight wire

This is what the manual has:

WHITE/ Black wire-(+-)Domelight supervision select

WHITE/ Black wire-(+-)Domelight supervision output---"-this one has the fuse"

Exactly how are these two wires to be hooked up?

WHITE/ Black wire-(+-)Domelight supervision select : This is your polarity selector. If your vehicle has a (-) or a (+) domelight trigger this polarity selector will out put whatever your domelight requires.

Do you want the domelight to come on automatically when you unlock the doors? If you don't care for this feature, just leave those two wires unconnected.
If you want illuminated entry, here's how you do it:
Go to the courtesty light under the driver's dash; it'll have two wires-- orange and white. With the door open, the white wire should test as a ground. With the door closed, the wire should test as positive.
Now that you have TESTED and confirmed that your car has negative-switched domelights, set your system up the following way:
"domelight supervision select" gets tied to chassis ground on the car.
"domelight supervision output" gets tied to the white wire at the courtesy light.
