I've installed an audiovox aps685 with a DEI fff5 in a 2002 winstar. I've programmed the 555f and it started, but no matter where a place the transponder It won't start - any suggestions on location?

My notes tell me that the 555F doesn' t work on the 2002 Windstar's, only the 555U ? Tis could be the problem, but I not for sure.

Might just be a Ford universal bypass module. You will need a key in the module to induce the PATS code to the PATS computer. Check it out at your local dealership and ask them if it is a keyless or a key required bypass for the 2002 Ford  Windstar ?

If the car key has a  Blue FORD logo on it it will require a coded to bypass the module. The 555f won't work.

Is up to the installer to test all wires with a DMM whenever possible.
