amp not working

Okay I installed my amp earlier this week, it is a Clarion APX1300 and it is suppoed to be powering one 12" Boston G5. The problem is that it is not putting out any power. The power light comes on, all of the fuses are good, the power and ground are both good, and the RCA is transfering signal. Also I checked the sub and it is functioning properly and none of it's fuses are blown. I opened the amp and checked the board for any broken connections or loose wires and found nothing. Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions about what to do?

Is the amp mounted to your sub enclosure?

No it is not.

I think your auxillary output from your deck is no good .if you have a way to send your amp another signal from a different radio that you know is good you can check to see if it is your amp or your radio . use different rca wires .how did you check to see your signal?Cameron : Tint King

Plug a known good signal in, say, from an iPos or something like that. This way, you can eliminate the head unit or RCAs to the back. If you get signal AT the amplifier, go to the other end of the RCAs, and plug in again. Still get signal? Then the head is the offending device. Check all of your settings on the deck, make sure your settings are all correct. 1: Is it a dedicated sub out? Is it switched on in the deck? 2: Are you using the rear outs? Is the balance set to the middle? 3: Are your crossovers conflicting? Is the deck set to hi-pass, and the amp to low? What else have you done to troubleshoot the issue. Lots of things can be checked to see what the issue is, without tearing into your amplifier (which, BTW, might have voided your waranty - now YOU have to make it work, and Clarion is not obliged in any way, shape or form, legally or morally, to help you, and you probably won't be able to return or exchange it, if it's new).It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

The amplifier, was easily opened with 4 screws, no ripping or tearing of anything involved, not even one of those stickers that says if you tear this your warranty is voided. To check the signal I took and old speaker and hooked it up to the ground wire and the individual rca wires to the positive and noise started to come through the speaker. I checked all of my head unit settings (Alpine CDA-9856). I have a Y-cable for my iPod so I will try that as suggested. Also I tried connecting the RCA to all three sets of rear outs.
