18'' subwoofers

 One of my buddy's wants to put a couple(if only one) of 18"s in the trunk of his car. The spec's for the sub's said 2.5 cu/ft sealed. On a square box what would be the W x D x L ??"conspiracy in silence speaks louder than words" -John Lennon

2.5 cubes sealed for an 18??? Wow, thats insanely small. That driver seems like it will choke. And to answer your question about larger sized subs achieving higher SPL, that all depends. A single 12" Brahma did 170.x dB. Personal experience, however, I ran a single 10" TC Sounds underhung driver. I threw it in a 0.7 cube sealed enclosure and on 700w it did a 135.7 dB (legal on the dash with the TL). The enclosure was way too small, power wasn't near enough, I believe it used a 3" voice coil so it could have taken twice the power, and on top of that, it was an SQ oriented sub. Too bad a few seconds later I tried pushing it too hard and it blew. Should have gotten it reconed, but instead i got it replaced by a 12" underhung driver that didnt even compare. My point, a smaller sub can get louder than a larger one and larger sub can also be as accurate as smaller subs...it all depends on the sub and the install.

what sub is this??? eD 19Ov.2?? I have a 19Ov.2...had it in 2.5 sealed. Sounded good but the lows were lacking

won't have that problem with the rl-p ;) smooth sounding and wicked low end, just the way an 18" should be.

well 2.5 cu ft sealed for any 18 is pretty small
